Journal Prompts

At 1:00 pm, we gather by region for a 90-minute listening prayer workshop. Seek the heart of the Lord for your region, gain His eyes and vision for what He is doing, and begin to join Him in the process of asking for and seeing His Kingdom come on earth, as it is in heaven.

In each movement, write down any feelings, thoughts, impressions, pictures, verses, songs, memories, dreams, or longings that come up. Pay attention and don’t dismiss what surfaces.

Behold — Looking Upward

Processing from God what He is saying about your personal stirrings from Movement Makers

Jesus, what have you been highlighting for me at Movement Makers personally?

Write down 1 key thing He has been highlighting for you here at Movement Makers. What is bringing you energy? What does He want you to know about that?

What is bringing me excitement and energy? Jesus, what do you want me to know?

Allow yourself to notice what has been stirring inside you. What has felt alive? What has felt like recognition — like something you already knew but hadn’t named?

Consecrate — Looking Inward

Processing your own fears and conflicts that keep you stuck rather than moving in your region

God, what is your heart for what you are highlighting for me?

Ask Jesus to take you by the hand and fly you up and over your region to get a bird’s eye view. What does He want to highlight for you — a place, a group of people, a system? What is His heart for what He is showing you?

What in my community seems to be operating in separation, apart from your presence?

Where do you see scarcity — the feeling that there is never enough time, money, or resources — creating competition, fear, and a breakdown of trust? Write down what you sense.

What would this look like if your Kingdom were to fully come into this situation?

Let your imagination go there. What would change? What would people feel? What would become possible that seems impossible now?

Move — Looking Outward

Processing from God, in the throne room, where He is at work in your region

God, what provisions do you want to make available to us from your heavenly realm?

You have access to God and all His resources. Let Jesus take you into the throne room where nothing is impossible with God. Let Him show you what He wants to make available to you and your region.

God, what promises do you have for our region? What are you decreeing over us?

Write down the promises, pictures, impressions, and words you are sensing. Pay attention to verses, songs, memories, or longings that come up — do not dismiss them.

What am I personally afraid of that I need to give to you so I can join you in what you are doing?

Name the fear. Hold it up to Him. What does He say about it? What does He want to give you in exchange for it?

What creative solutions do you have for us, in our true identity, to meet the challenges of separation and scarcity?

Ask Him for wisdom. He has creative solutions that arise from your true identity — not from striving, but from knowing who you are and who He is. Write down what comes.

Intercede — Praying What You Hear

Agreeing with what He is showing you and praying it back

Intercession is not telling God about a problem He wasn’t aware of. It is asking Him to show us what He is up to, and then agreeing with Him in prayer — voicing in agreement what we hear and see Him doing. Let the themes, images, and highlights you sensed guide your prayers of thanksgiving and request on behalf of your community.
